 Probably never. Everyone is aware of the health risks associated with smoking.  Few people are aware of the radioactive gasses<\/a> or toxic chemicals that lurk in their homes that are slowly decaying their health.  People fail to realize that they are being poisoned. Radon<\/a>, a radioactive gas that <\/span>can <\/span>exist in your home, is the number one cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, according to EPA estimates. Overall, radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Radon is responsible for about 21,000 lung cancer deaths every year.<\/span><\/p>\n

 VOC stands for volatile organic compound<\/a>, meaning any of several chemical additives. Levels of VOCs inside your house can increase up to 1,000 times if certain kinds of paints are used. Paint only releases half of its VOCs in the first year. There are numerous VOCs in the paint that’s known to cause cancer. Other health effects besides cancer include kidney damage, liver damage, damage to the central nervous system (including the brain), as well as minor complaints like headaches and eye, throat, and nose irritation.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
